WardenLock is a home inventory app that helps you document what you own so you can protect it and prove it when it matters. We know that means trusting us with details about your home and belongings, and we take that seriously. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

WardenLock (the "Service") is a brand of, and is operated by, Apex Rental Pro, LLC ("WardenLock", "Company", "we", "us", or "our"), located in Sanilac County, Michigan, USA. This policy applies to the WardenLock website, web app, and mobile apps. It does not apply to third-party websites or services we link to.

The short version. We collect the information needed to run WardenLock and keep your inventory safe and synced. We use trusted service providers to operate the Service. We do not sell your personal information today. We protect your account with strong security, and you can access, export, or delete your data at any time. The details are below.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information you create in the Service, and information collected automatically.

Information you provide

Information you create in WardenLock (your inventory content)

The heart of WardenLock is the inventory you build. This may include item names and descriptions, rooms, photos you capture or upload, serial numbers, barcodes/UPCs, purchase prices, replacement values, condition, dates, notes, and documents you attach such as receipts, warranties, manuals, and appraisals. This content is yours. We process it to provide the Service to you and the household members you invite.

Information collected automatically

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

3. Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to run the Service (for example, to keep you signed in and to protect your account), as well as optional analytics cookies that help us understand usage.

We may use Google Analytics on our public website and certain Service pages to measure page views, sessions, and general usage trends. Google Analytics may set its own cookies and process data under Google's terms. You can learn about Google's practices and opt-out options at Google's policies. You can also control cookies through your browser settings and through the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our footer.

Advertising (free plan)

First, the important part: we never use the contents of your inventory — your items, photos, or documents — to target ads. That stays private. And if you'd simply rather not see ads, WardenLock Premium is completely ad-free.

The free version is supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob in our mobile app and Google ad services on our website. To show and measure ads, Google and our advertising partners may use cookies, a device advertising identifier, and similar technologies that collect information such as your device type, IP address, general (non-precise) location, and how you interact with ads. You can read how Google handles this in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

You're in control. Where the law requires it (such as in Europe and the UK), we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you can change your mind anytime. On Apple devices we ask through Apple's standard permission prompt — if you decline, you'll simply see non-personalized ads. You can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings, use the Your Privacy Choices link, or go ad-free with Premium. Depending on where you live, ad-related activity may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under privacy laws — and the same controls let you opt out.

4. How we share information

We do not share your personal information except in the limited situations described below.

The trusted providers behind WardenLock

To keep things transparent, here are the kinds of services we rely on to run WardenLock. They handle only what they need to do their job:

5. Do we sell your information?

We do not sell your personal information for money. Our free plan is supported by advertising, and to deliver ads we may share limited information with advertising partners (see Advertising). Under some state privacy laws, that ad-related activity can be treated as "sharing" or a "sale" — and you can opt out of it, or remove ads entirely with Premium.

Beyond advertising, we want to be straightforward rather than make a promise we might not keep forever. As our business grows, we may in the future choose to share or sell certain additional information — for example, aggregated or de-identified insights, or, where the law permits, categories of personal information — to partners, advertisers, or other third parties. We have not decided to do so, and we may never do so.

If that ever changes, we will:

Regardless of any future change, we will never publish your private inventory, photos, or documents, and we will not sell the contents of your home inventory.

6. Your rights & choices

You have meaningful control over your information:

Depending on where you live (for example, California, other U.S. states, or other jurisdictions), you may have additional rights — such as the right to know the categories of personal information we collect, to request access or deletion, to correct information, to opt out of "sales" or "sharing" or targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond as required by law. You may also designate an authorized agent where permitted.

7. How we protect your data

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and account protections such as passkeys, two-factor authentication, and device session management. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but protecting your data is a core part of what WardenLock is for, and we treat it that way. Please use a strong, unique password and enable the security features available in your account.

8. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After you delete content or close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.

9. Children's privacy

WardenLock is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Where your data is processed

WardenLock is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States and in locations where our service providers operate. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (for example, by email or an in-app notice). Your continued use of WardenLock after an update means you accept the revised policy.
